At Jordan High School, student success is translating into regional recognition.
In the 2026 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings, Jordan placed No. 18 in the Salt Lake metro area, securing its place among the area’s top-performing schools.
The ranking aligns with strong enrollment trends across Canyons School District, where a significant majority of local students choose to attend Canyons high schools, with additional students enrolling from outside district boundaries. The home of the Beetdiggers enrolled 114 out-of-district students this year, a strong signal of confidence in Jordan’s academics and extracurricular activities, from a championship baseball team to an award-winning choir and Naval Cadet Corps program.
“Our high schools are delivering results that families can see and trust,” said Tom Sherwood, the District’s Director of High Schools.
The rankings are based on measures such as college readiness, proficiency in math and reading, access to early-college coursework, and graduation rates, indicators that reflect how well schools prepare students for life after graduation.
Jordan’s placement underscores its continued commitment to helping students build strong futures in a competitive, high-performing educational landscape.
