Message From Our New Principal

Greetings Beetdigger Family,

This is Dr. Bruce Eschler, and I am honored to be serving as the new principal of Jordan High School. I look forward to getting to know Jordan’s fantastic students, family, staff, and alumni, and to continuing the Beetdigger tradition of “honoring the past, embracing the present, and anticipating the future.”

By way of introduction, I’ll share a snapshot about myself. This coming school year will be my 17th as a full-time educator. I got my start teaching English, reading, and English as a Second Language to junior high students in the Murray School District. I’ve served as an assistant principal at the high school level for Canyons District, and worked at West High School, Upward Bound, and the University of Utah in various educational capacities. I received a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Utah and a Ph.D. from Brigham Young University, which I guess makes me a Utes and Cougar fan. I’m married and have one human child and one canine child. We all love the outdoors, and the humans in the family are avid readers.

The opportunity to be Jordan High’s principal is both exciting and humbling. I recognize that this school is more than a high school. It is a family with a long tradition. Being a Beetdigger is something special and taking on the primary leadership position for this school comes with great responsibility. Advocacy has always been the center of my work as an educator. I’m here today because teachers, mentors, and my own family advocated for me. And I pledge to be an advocate for every student at Jordan High.

I also look forward to the work we can do together, and to sharing the many great things happening at Jordan High. Next time you’re on campus, be sure to drop by and say hello. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, and know that my heart now “beets” for you and our Jordan family.

Sincerely,

Dr. Eschler
