- Review & Approve October Minutes

b. Unanimously approved - Dr Rick Robins – Innovation Center (IC)
a. Updates re Innovation Center plan (old eBay building) – MHTN (architect)
i. 36 acres (16 buildable acres)
ii. 215K+ sq ft
iii. FrontRunner / Public Transit very convenient (hoping to partner with UTA for transit passes)
b. Goal – open by Fall 2026
i. Required to lease bldg back to eBay employees for 12 months minimum, if goes longer, could push opening to Fall 2027
c. CTEC programs moving to Innovation Center – many industry partners interested in working with CSD/CTEC
i. Focus on CTE Pathways, industry partnerships, certification/licensure
ii. Key goal – industry embedded skills, curriculum, and partnerships
iii. Could DOUBLE available enrollment for CTEC programs
iv. NOT a “rebrand” of CTEC, rather an expansion of those programs, etc.
d. UofU VERY interested in partnering with IC for credentials, etc leading to UofU - Officer Hoopes & Kelcey Kemp – JHS Safety Plan
a. CrisisGo app will be launched in January (JHS has been pilot school sinch May/June 2024)
i. Centralized app for student check-ins during crises, evacuations, etc.
ii. Rosters auto-updated nightly (subs will have ability to access)
iii. Also functional for medical alerts, hallway issues, etc.
iv. Can auto-lock/unlock all main doors at once
v. Functions as “individual emergency button” for all teachers
vi. SROs also have CrisisGo app – notifies them to work cell phone for crises at any of the local CSD schools - Gives SROs a heads-up of what issues are before walking in
- Currently 9 SROs in Sandy – all 9 get notified for Sandy schools
b. Construction in Main Office will start in December (for secure vestibule)
i. Hoping to have that completed by May 2025
c. Have added more cameras in the building, and will be adding more as part of construction updates (parking lots, etc)
d. Additional SSA hire in process – will make 4 total (hall monitors)
e. Possible interest in more “live scenario” trainings for teachers/staff for crisis responses
i. Options to empower calm critical thinking (rather than just being scary)
f. Areas of safety concerns:
i. Secure vestibule – in progress starting in Dec, but visibility will get worse before it gets better
ii. Entries will be complicated throughout construction – priority for new incoming SSA; SSA rotations will include exterior doors - Possible district plan for exterior door sensors coming (waiting for more information from district personnel)
- Dr Eschler – Review/Updates
a. Budgets still look good – will get more active updates on budgets in January (especially in regard to insurance usage, etc.)
b. Final graduation rate for 2024 is still in the works – should have by January
c. Construction updates
i. Bathrooms are still in progress. First three were projected for November, so hoping for December(ish)
ii. Secure vestibule demo/construction starting December 2024 - Main Office staff will all be in Attendance Office
iii. Field House and BB Theatre – should start construction first of year 2025
iv. Softball Clubhouse – waiting on firm start date - Preliminary issue is running plumbing/sewer to projected site
v. Digits on scoreboard fixed in Fall 2024. Spring/June 2025 should get updated display and sound
vi. Summer 2025 projections - Sound in gyms
- A/V in theater
- Counseling Center
a. Junior CCRs coming up – emails went out on Parent Square – please schedule!!!
