School Community Council Meeting—Wednesday, October 8, 2025 @ 5:30pm

Meeting Notes and Agenda Items:

Present- Kelcey Kemp, Erica Brown, Rebecca Brown, Isaac Zeigler, Doug Jensen, Terri Culberson, James Barron, Krystal Hansen, Brandie Kafentzis, Melissa Jones, Vickie Hulderson, Dave Barrett

Excused- Matthew Toone, Elizabeth Demke, Jack Hyer, Jenny Baker

  1. Welcome and Approval of February Minutes:

SCC Chair, Isaac Zeigler, called to order, welcomed the Council, and asked for a motion to

approve September meeting minutes.

Brandie Kafentzis motioned to approve September 2025 minutes, Doug Jensen seconded and motion was approved by unanimous vote

Kelcey Kemp, provided review and updates:

Budgets—things look good with budgets, short discussion

Land Trust/TSSP – 2025-26 Land Trust/TSSP budgets on track.

Other Items- Mr. Kemp shared school building improvements and discussed construction

including bathrooms, ball fields, turf, exterior lighting, theater area, locker rooms, gym

bleachers, etc. 

Safety plan needed to address various issues including ball fields and improved lighting.

Shared Early Warning System (EWS) and reviewed data with Council.  Discussion ensued.

Digital Citizenship Plan presented and reviewed.  Terri motioned to approve and Vickie seconded.  Motion passes unanimously

Melissa Jones: Our new counselor, Ashley Munoz, has done a great job with UCAW.  Counseling team has been working on Senior CCRs.  Moving forward counselors will be supporting Seniors with college applications in English classes.  Junior CCRs will begin in November.  Discussed upcoming priorities including Great Start Awards for 9th graders.  Generally, students are doing well.
