Wendell Ashby
I’m Wendell W. Ashby. I’d like to serve you in the school community council to represent you and your values. We need more parental input in our schools. More patriotism, not critical race theory. More actual science, not political masquerades. More community values, not union/corporate dictates. Real parents. Real input.

– I LOVE Jordan High School and want to ensure the success of its students.
-All five of my children have attended Jordan, including my youngest son, who is a senior.
-I have always tried to be involved with our local schools, and helping to make them their very best–including serving as Jordan PTA president. I also substitute at Jordan to stay involved.
-The Jordan School Community Council is an important body that helps to decide how scarce educational funds are spent at Jordan–and I want to help ensure that those funds are best spent for our children.

I have served on School Community Councils at Bellview Elementary, Park Lane Elementary, Eastmont Middle and Jordan High School for the past 12 years and have served as Chair and Co-Chair many times. I really enjoy volunteering my time in this capacity. I believe it is important to be involved in the community and local schools. I like to study the issues, listen to school staff and community members and try to come up with solutions that will better our schools, students, staff and communities. I come with current knowledge and experience in this area. I strongly believe that Jordan has made some great progress over the last 4 years in many areas including safety and academic excellence, especially for our underprivileged students, and I want to ensure that we continue to build on this progress. I also feel that SCC members have a fiscal responsibility to use money allotted to make important decisions on how and where that money will be best utilized to ensure goals are met. I look forward to serving again if I am voted in.

This is our family’s 12th and final year at Jordan High School and I think it’s about time that I stepped up and volunteered for something other than bringing snacks to tennis matches. I will be happy to serve on the School Community Council of Jordan High for 2021-22.
