• c. Land Trust Plan
o We will solicit feedback from JHS BLT.
o sec needs to be prepared with input as well, budget should be around $500k
o Items to consider
■ JHS is in TSI status for ML which is about 10-13% of our student population
■ JHS is anticipated to lose FTE for the coming school year based on declining enrollment
o Question from DH – how will the new Step 2 the U program be funded? BE: District has not asked for Land Trust money and will cover costs.
o Question from PD – how can we better target the ML population via conventional communication etc.?
o Discussion about Math I Lab and how that can possibly affect FTE issues and CE/AP course offerings.
■ Should we continue to fund 10 sections of this
• It costs FTE and electives for students.
• Perhaps offer as a support/intervention only.
• Offer Math 1 / 2 Lab combined? o Other programs/initiatives/systems
■ AVID
■ JROTC (Navy) Cadet Core
o Question from DH: would Step 2 the U possibly deter students from taking AP courses? Dr. Eschler said Alta’s data suggests that it was the reverse; CE/AP
numbers increased.
